The Micro bone scraper is a minimally invasive autogenous bone collector which allows clinicians to harvest bone in narrow, difficult-to-reach areas more effectively. PREDICTABLE LONG-TERM CLINICAL RESULTS 

For over 10 years, Ti-oss consistently demonstrates enhanced bone formation compared to alternatives. (1) 

Ti-oss bovine xenograft – more bone than Bio-oss ¹ at 25% less cost. The key reasons for this clinical success are pore, surface and processing enhancements, which are explained in more detail below. 

1. PORE SIZE AND DENSITY

Ti-oss uses cancellous bone, which is more porous and less dense than grafts containing cortical parts.

->High porosity is a prerequisite to clot adsorption and blood penetration.   

->High Porosity means less graft to fill the same-sized defect. Less graft means less money. 1.0g of Ti-oss is equivalent to 2.3cc.

3. UNIQUE PROCESSING.

All naturally derived grafts (xenograft and allograft) must be processed before use in another human.  Processing with high heat creates a denser material (more crystalline) that the body is less able to remodel.  By contrast, Tio-oss is processed with mid-level temperature, supplemented by chemical and gas washing. This results in a higher percentage of material the body can replace rather than one it treats more as a foreign body with fibrous encapsulation.

BONE HEALING

Sponge CONE contains bovine collagen, which is haemostatic and facilitates the healing cascade, leaving the biphasic graft to host the clot and provide a stable scaffold for new bone regeneration. Hydroxyapatite is resistant to remodelling and provides the regenerated bone with volume stability over the longer term. 

APPLICATION IN A POST-EXTRACTION SITE

• Perform atraumatic extraction and degranulate the site thoroughly with degranulation burrs or similar. 

• Place the Sponge Cone graft into the bleeding site and compress.

• Trim to fit if needed – socket cone can be partially cut along its pointed axis to straddle a multi-rooted site.

• Apply an Ora-Aid self-adhesive dressing under the suture to protect the site. To prolong protection, the suture can be picked up on either side of the socket and tensioned over the top of the Ora-Aid.

• Suture over the Ora-Aid with the stitch picked up in the adjacent soft tissue or close with Periacryl oral adhesive.
