ORA-AID FEATURES

Ora-Aid comprises a lower mucosal adhesive and absorbent layer (1) an upper protective layer (2) and a backing film (3) that is removed immediately before application.   

When exposed to saliva and blood the lower layer (1) becomes jelly-like, adhesive and adaptive.  The upper layer (2) creates a smooth protective surface. This layer is infused with a minty flavour which aids patient acceptance. 

ORA-AID:

• Adheres and Absorbs – Ora-Aid adhesion is activated in contact with water or saliva. The gelly-like state crated absorbs wound exudate. 

• Improves Outcomes – Protection from infection, food, brushing and tongue interference. Exudate adsorption.  

• Easy, Convenient and Flexible – Easy to trim with quick adhesion. Can be re-applied by the patient or sutured for longer protection. 

• Patient Acceptance – Ora-Aid is comfortable, not bulky, and they like the pleasant minty flavour. 

ORA-AID PRESENTATION

Ora Aid is available in two sizes. The Regular (Red) is 25 x 15mm and the Large (Green) is 50 x 15mm. 

ORA-AID APPLICATION

• Trim Ora-Aid to match the site before opening – a sterile paper or foil template helps create the ideal shape.

• Remove excess moisture from the site and apply Ora-Aid after peeling off the backing strip. 

• Apply pressure to ensure Ora-Aid has adhered.

3. ORA-AID EXTENDED APPLICATION (Over Suture)

A cross-suture fixed on the labial and lingual tissues over Ora-Aid will provide extended application. This is especially valuable in implant and post-extraction sites where achieving tension-free closure adds unnecessary trauma and can compromise soft tissue aesthetics.

Ora-aid_ Salivary markers and extraction

A pack of 5 micro threaded screws with Philipps cross head suitable for fixation of dental barrier membranes and other thin biomaterial devices. These are threaded screws – not a standard ‘push-in’ ‘tack’ (see below).   The screw head is precision made for one-handed application using a compatible Phillips head motor driver or hand driver.

Resorbable Dental Barrier Membranes such as:

• Powerbone Resorbable Polymer Membrane

• Tis-oss GUIDE Resorbable Collagen Membrane.

Non-Resorbable Dental Barrier Membranes such as:

• Ultra-Thin Titanium Mesh

Achieve vertical and horizontal bone regeneration with porous titanium mesh from Powerbone.  This titanium mesh is ultra-thin, enabling easy trimming, defect shaping and removal.

The Powerbone Titanium Mesh can be easily trimmed into 4 x (22mm x 15.5mm) for small cases or 2 x (50 x 15.5mm) for larger graft cases. 

• Grade 5 Titanium

• Hexagonal perforations (0.4mm) allow diffusion of interstitial fluid and vessels whilst excluding soft-tissue ingress.
