SECURE SYSTEM – Diamond-coated & crest flattening drills* assist safe drilling in the atrophic mandible
SECURE PLACEMENT – Short DM has a wide shoulder which engages the pre-flattened crest of the atrophic mandible. A polished collar seals the gingiva & reduces bone loss.
SECURE RESTORATION – A conical internal connection minimizes micromovements and uses standard prosthetic parts for simplicity and reduced costs.

SECURE DRILLING – ShortDM is placed in the atrophic mandible using the Secure system designed on neurosurgical principles. The system includes safe depth drill stoppers for both the diamond-coated drills and mandibular ridge flattening drill.     

Grade 23 (Ti 6AL-4V ELI)* titanium alloy – the ultimate dental and medical titanium delivering high strength & lightweight. 

*Use of Grade 23 Titanium Alloy in Dental Implants reduces the potential for fractures – especially around the implant collar whilst allowing narrower diameter implants with uniform internal connections for simplified restoration.

2. Bioetch surface

A patented double acid etching creates 1.3-micron roughness which favours bone deposition without using traditional sand or media* blasting. 

*Sand or media blasting involves particles of aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃), titanium oxide (TiO₂) or calcium phosphates fired at the machined surface by compressed air or fluid at high velocity. The oxide layer created by this process is widely reported** to leave remnants that slow healing and increase failures.  Washing with strong acid after media blasting does not completely eradicate remands which remain trapped in the irregular surface created by the process.

3. Connection

Short DM uses a standard indexed conical connection*** with components from the standard TopDM catalogue.
