FUNCTIONALITY

Tenting with conventional small head screws can lead to soft tissue penetration when bone substitute shrinks around the screw.  Bionnovation answers this with a larger UMBRELLA or MUSHROOM head in a rounded style.

Use Bionnovation Umbrella screw alone or in series to create space and graft support in the early stages of healing when excessive force can cause micro movement and scar tissue formation.  Also known as a “tent” or ‘mushroom’ screw yet with different characteristics from the specialised Tenting Screw system by Bionnovation which is used in conjunction with titanium mesh and barrier membranes. 

REMOVAL

Removal of the UMBRELLA screw is easy using drivers from the Bionnovation Kit or a suitable Philips-type driver.  Due to the narrow diameter of the screw, any resulting defect will heal spontaneously.
