Dental Bone, GBR and Membrane Fixation

Regen Store offers a complete range of tools for fixation and removal of Bone, Cortical Plate, Soft Tissue and Semi Rigid Biomaterials, Space Creation Barriers in Titanium or Adsorbing synthetic polymers and tenting systems.

The creation of a healing compartment is critical for bone healing. For small sites resorbing membranes (collagen) with bone graft infill work well. Larger defects where membrane collapse is more common may require the use of a space-maintaining barrier of either titanium (Ti mesh) or Synthetic Adsorbing Polymer.

Surgitime-Titanium

Since it has memory, Ti Mesh has characteristics that permit an exchange of fluids, is malleable for three-dimensional adaptation, is readily fixed in place with titanium bone screws, tents screws or tacks and is visible by radiograph. The mesh is shaped according to the anatomy of the bone to retain bone augmentation materials, surgically placed and held in place with retaining tacks. In addition, Ti-Mesh gives exceptional compression resistance. The tenting properties of the mesh make it ideal for the protection of graft material.

  • Ultra-thin at 0,04 & 0,08 mm
  • Holes of 0,15 or 0,85 mm

3D custom Titanium is pre-shaped to allow adaptability and stabilization by the healing abutment or cover screw of the implant or a tenting screw if an implant is not placed.

synthetic adsorbing dental membrane

Powerbone synthetic polymer membranes is a novel alternative for clinicians familiar with PTFE as handling and fixation is very similar. Unlike PTFE Powerbone Polymer membrane adsorbs completely negating a second procedure for removal.

Fixed to create the all important stability using an active or passive fixation screw. In some instances a pilot drill can be used to create a small osteotomy whcih assist screw insertion. Typically, screws are inserted using a ‘Philips’ head driver or an adapter to allow fixation using the motor.

Screws are used to fix bone blocks, soft tissue grafts, stabilise titanium mesh and resorbable membranes of collagen and synthetic polymer types.

Fixation screws may be standard head or expanded head (mushroom type) to allow small site tenting as part of the umbrella technique. Standard and expanded head screws are fixed using a Phillips head driver or motor driver.

A Tenting Screw is a screw which acts as a ‘tent-pole’ to efficiently support and create a healing compartment under non-resorbable or form stable resorbing barriers. Typically a tenting screw will have a wide – mushroom type head sometimes called an umbrella screw.

DENTAL BONE GRAFT, BARRIER AND GBR FIXATION

The compact Powerbone Bone Graft and GBR fixation kit stores your choice of fixation screws with active or passive apex designs along with dental barrier membrane tacks. The kit comes complete with pilot drill and motor driver with a hand-screw driver available seperately. This kit allows fixation and removal of the above devices and is manufactured to exacting tolerances to ensure precise handling.

Threaded fixation screws are available with active or passive apex designs. Active apex are used for all bone grafts with passive apex screws recommended for fixation of thin cortical plates in the ‘Khoury technique‘.

Dental Barrier Membranes require stabilisation on one or both sides depending upon the defect type. Fixation can be with simple push-in membrane tacks or threaded membrane screws as shown. Push in membrane tacks are fixed with an applicator and often come with a tool for removal. Dental Membrane fixation screws are threaded and inserted using a phillips head driver.
