5 Sterile dense collagen cones containing biphasic synthetic bone graft.

SOCKET WITH NO IMPLANT SCHEDULED?
The easiest & most cost-effective way to fill an extraction socket when an implant is delayed beyond 4 months or not planned at the extraction time.

Biphasic Sponge Graft comprises 60% Beta TCP and 40% HA granules fused as one and embedded in a dense collagen sponge presented as a socket-shaped cone for easy placement and retention.  The BetaTCP provides the osteoconductive scaffold to host new bone regeneration and will resorb completely in line with bone healing leaving the HA component to support the long-term volume preservation due to its resistance to remodelling.

Biphasic Sponge Graft can easily be trimmed with scissors or a blade and placement requires no special surgical skills or instruments.

biphasic sponge can easily be trimmed

TECHNICAL

Biphasic Sponge Cone, Bio-oss collagen

  • Biphasic granule – 60% βeta-TCP (Beta Tri Calcium Phosphate and 40% Hydroxyapatite)

  • Bovine Collagen Haemostatic Sponge.

  • 5 (20mm x 10mm) bullet-shaped cones individually packed in sterile blisters.

FEATURES

  • Collagen Sponge facilitates haemostasis and initiates the healing cascade.

  • Pre-shaped to match socket morphology.

  • Easily trim to fill multi-root or other defects.

  • Porous Osteoconductive Graft Scaffold.

  • Long Term Volume Maintenance due to the presence of Hydroxyapatite.

BONE HEALING

Sponge CONE contains bovine collagen which is haemostatic and facilitates the healing cascade leaving the biphasic graft to host the clot and provide a stable scaffold for new bone regeneration. Hydroxyapatite is resistant to remodelling and provides the regenerated bone with volume stability over the longer term

APPLICATION IN A POST-EXTRACTION SITE

  • Perform atraumatic extraction and degranulate the site thoroughly with degranulation burrs or similar.

  • Place Sponge Cone graft into the bleeding site and compress.

  • Trim to fit if needed – socket cone can be partially cut along its pointed axis to straddle a multi-rooted site.

  • Apply an Ora-Aid self-adhesive dressing under the suture to protect the site. To prolong protection the suture can be picked up on either side of the socket and tensioned over the top of the Ora-Aid.

  • Suture over the Ora-Aid with the stitch picked up in the adjacent soft tissue.
